Construction Permit
The information presented on this page is for general guidance only. Urban planning by-laws remain the primary source for all official information.
Some municipal by-laws are available online for consultation. The online versions are no substitution to the official versions adopted by the Council. The proposed regulations are available to the public on the Town website for consultation purposes only. At this stage, they have not been adopted by the Council so that changes may be made prior to their adoption at a later date. The promulgation of any regulation is made through the publication of a public notice.
Any discrepancies between the regulations available on this website and those kept in the Town Registry Department, the latter take precedence for all purposes. The French version also takes precedence over the English version.
Please note that, prior to any construction project, you must contact the Urban Planning department to avoid any breaches to the regulations.
The staff members of the Town Planning Department are available in order to ensure that your project respects all municipal by-laws:

Depending on the nature and complexity of the project, the Town of Baie-D’Urfé reserves the right to require any additional documentation necessary to better understand the project and ensure its compliance with all applicable regulations.
Reminder: During the high season, from spring through fall, the Urban Planning Department recommends that applicants allow a minimum of 30 working days, starting from the submission of the application or the receipt of the last document required to complete the file, for the processing of permit applications or projects not subject to PIIA review.
If the project is subject to PIIA review and requires approval from the TPAC, Town Council or the Demolition Committee, applicants should expect a longer timeline of at least three months, as the processing time may vary depending on when the requested additional documents are received.
This timeframe should be taken into consideration before any work begins, and applicants are encouraged to inform their contractor accordingly.
